ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND - If Switzerland is in your vacation plans this winter, but lift passes are stretching the budget, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel has the solution. The ’Grande Dame’ of St Moritz, the birthplace of winter sports, invites guests who stay more than one night to ski for free this winter. Guests at The Palace will receive a complimentary ticket, for all mountain railways, cable cars and public transport in St Moritz for the duration of their stay. Valid from December 1, 2012 to April 1, 2013.

Over 100 hotels in the region are joining the Ski Pass Inclusive initiative to offer holidaymakers a ticket for the mountain railways and lifts at a price of 25.00 CHF (approx. $26 US) per person per day, for stays of two or more nights. Free use of the regional public transport in the Upper Engadin is also included in the price.

Sweetening the deal, Badrutt’s Palace is offering free transfers to and from the Corviglia mountain railway station.

In addition to their hotel stay, guests will enjoy over 215 miles (375 km) of perfectly groomed ski runs, three snow parks and 57 cable car and ski-lift rides, as well as access to 34 mountain restaurants with sun terraces. Complimentary use of public transport in the entire Upper Engadin area is included in the offer. The Upper Engadin is blessed with an abundance of sunshine, and thanks to its altitude of between 5,906−10,837 ft (1,800 and 3,303 metres) above sea level, snow is virtually guaranteed.

For those looking for more than lift passes, the All About Ski package maximizes the sheer pleasure of skiing in St Moritz’s winter paradise. And after a day in the snow, chilling out at The Palace Wellness is a favourite activity, whether for a dip in the infinity pool overlooking Lake St Moritz, a treatment in a private Spa Suite, or simply a soak in one of the many steam rooms and Jacuzzis.
